Adam Palmer, Summit Roofing Solutions Owner
Adam has been roofing for over a decade. Before starting Summit Roofing Solutions, he learnt his trade with well-established roofers in Cornwall. Roofing with a high level of workmanship, he prides himself on the excellent service he offers to customers. As well as holding full NVQ roofing qualifications, he has completed courses with the South Wales and South West Roof Training Group. He is fully trained to install PV panels (solar panels) and he is an approved installer of EPDM rubber membrane flat roof systems.
Gary Matthews, Roofer – ‘Conscientious and multi skilled’
Gary has worked for Adam for six years and learnt his trade from the boss. ‘He’s conscientious, multi-skilled and pays attention to detail,’ says Adam. ‘A completely competent, skilled and fully-trained roofer across all types of roofing.’ Like Adam, he has completed courses with the South Wales and South West Roof Training Group. He is fully trained to install PV panels (solar panels); and he is an approved installer of EPDM rubber membrane flat roof systems.
Gary Bell, Roofer – ‘A wealth of experience’
Summit’s second Gary joined the business in February 2014. He’s an experienced roofer who began an apprenticeship on leaving school and now has 12 years under his belt. Gary is trained to NVQ3 and is an approved topseal fibreglass installer. He’s a keen footballer and plays at a high level for Falmouth Town FC in the South West Peninsula Premier League. Says Adam, ‘We are very lucky to have Gary on board at Summit. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, which is going to be invaluable for our apprentices.’
Ashley Ellis, Apprentice Roofer – ‘An asset to the business’
Ashley joined Summit Roofing Solutions as a full-time apprentice in autumn 2013, after completing several stints with the company during college breaks. He’ll work under the guidance of Adam and the two Garys, while also pursuing an NVQ in roofing. He’s another of Summit’s footballers and plays for local club St Just in the Combination League. Says Adam, ‘Ashley is enthusiastic and keen to learn – he’s a real asset to the business.’
Kane Stephenson, Apprentice Roofer – ‘An enthusiastic, hard worker’
Kane joined Summit in January 2014 and is also studying a specialist apprenticeship programme as part of his NVQ training. He’s a good friend of Summit’s other apprentice Ashley and also plays for St Just. Says Adam, ‘Kane is a very hard worker. He is enthusiastic and takes pride in carrying out the tasks presented to him. He will become a good roofer in his own right as he continues to put his training into practice.’
Kerrie Palmer, Office Administrator – ‘Excellent customer service’
Kerrie is crucial to Summit Roofing Solutions’ commitment to excellent customer service. She makes sure customers receive quotes, policies and other important documents when promised, so that they have a complete record of our working agreement. She also helps with logistical planning for jobs – for instance, settling on a suitable start date, arranging for scaffolding – so that we keep to an agreed schedule. Her organisational skills and attention to detail are a hugely important part of why customers recommend us so highly.
